Our approach to education for neurodiverse students
We embrace neurodiversity and recognise that every individual has unique strengths and abilities. Neurodiversity encompasses a range of neurological differences, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia and more. We understand that inclusive education is not just beneficial; it is essential for supporting neurodiverse students, providing them with the necessary guidance to succeed and thrive academically and socially.

Supporting Neurodiverse Students
Our approach revolves around empowering neurodiverse students to recognise and develop their unique skills and strengths. Throughout NOS with inclusive therapeutic support and our LIFE programme, we help students build confidence, learn new skills and engage meaningfully with their education.
By developing leadership qualities, we prepare our students not just for academic success but for becoming active and independent citizens in the future.
Inclusivity
At the National Online School, inclusivity is non-negotiable. We believe in zero exclusions, ensuring that every student, regardless of their background, diagnosis or challenges, has access to quality education and unwavering support.

Therapeutic Education
Our unique therapeutic approach, informed by neuroscience and evidence-based practices, supports student’s emotional and social growth.
Our dedicated team provides consistent interactions, unconditional positive regard and strengths-based practices, which create a nurturing environment where students feel valued and supported.

The LIFE Programme
We support neurodiverse students through our LIFE curriculum (Leadership, Independence skills, Future Options & Employability and Empowerment). This programme equips students in Years 7 to 11 with essential life skills, emotional literacy and career guidance.
Through leadership development, independence skills, and career preparation, we make sure our students are ready for the challenges of adulthood and the workforce. By nurturing their abilities and instilling a ‘can-do’ attitude, we set them on the path to success.

Celebration Assemblies
Every Friday, we come together to celebrate our students’ achievements. These assemblies are more than just a recognition of academic accomplishments – they encourage a sense of pride and community within our online school.
