Switching Off, Reconnecting and Recharging

At National Online School, we know that supporting our students starts with supporting the people around them. That’s why we recently brought our team together from across the country for two dedicated Wellbeing Days, giving our staff the opportunity to step away from their screens, reconnect with one another and take some well-deserved time to recharge.

As a fully online school, many of our team work remotely every day. While we collaborate online, spending time together in person is something we don’t get to do very often. These two days gave us the chance to strengthen relationships, catch up, share experiences and enjoy simply being together.

The event began with a relaxed afternoon where everyone arrived, shared lunch and dinner, and enjoyed spending time together before the activities began.

The second day was all about wellbeing, with the team taking part in a range of activities including a game of Traitors, forest bathing, wild swimming and yoga. Whether people were trying something completely new or simply taking time to slow down, the day encouraged everyone to switch off from the pressures of work, support one another and enjoy being outdoors.

As one team member said:

“It was just lovely to really slow down, spend some downtime with colleagues, be in beautiful nature and completely relax. I loved it!”

There was plenty of laughter, lots of conversations and a few people stepping outside their comfort zones along the way. More importantly, it gave our team the opportunity to reconnect, recharge and return feeling refreshed, ready to continue supporting the children, young people and families who are at the heart of everything we do.

We’re already looking forward to our next Wellbeing Days and another opportunity to come together as a team!
