Student Journey - Long Term

STUDENT JOURNEY

For some neurodiverse students, online learning – like remote work in the modern world – provides the best environment for success. Our National Online School, offers long-term support for students from Key Stage 2 through their GCSE’s and into NOS College, including BTEC’s and A Level’s.

Our personalised approach ensures that every student receives specialist teaching, therapeutic interventions and a structured learning pathway, helping them achieve their full potential in a setting that works for them.

Positive Journey of Change

Our Positive Journey of Change programme recognises that every student’s path is unique – some may have a spiky profile and progress may not always be linear. However, our goal remains the same: to guide each student toward greater independence and preparedness for their next steps in life.

Through this programme, we empower students to build confidence, overcome social isolation and develop the skills needed to transition successfully into further education, training, or employment. No matter their journey, we are committed to supporting them in achieving their full potential and leading fulfilling lives.

Social Isolation

For children and young people with special educational needs, previous learning experiences may have led to feelings of social isolation due to negative labelling or exclusion. We provide online schooling for special needs students in a supportive environment where they can overcome these challenges and build meaningful connections.

Upon joining our online school, students embark on a journey of trust and self-belief. Each student is paired with a dedicated Pastoral Form Tutor and Subject Teachers who support them in developing healthy relationships and self-confidence. This enables them to start believing in themselves and their abilities.

Through a comprehensive assessment process, we identify students’ strengths, talents and interests, crafting tailored learning plans overseen by our leadership and clinical team. Our goal is to transition students into a full-time education programme, encouraging independence while ensuring ongoing support.

Every student’s journey to independence is unique, whether it involves overcoming social isolation, developing healthy dependencies, or redefining perceptions of self. Our goal is to equip students with the skills and confidence they need to succeed in mainstream education, training or employment.

Everything about National Online School is tailored to meet the needs of every child with SEND, from the carefully planned timetable, designed to avoid visual sensory overload, to the engaging daily lessons. They are amazing when it comes to providing a safe, happy, understanding, and caring education to our son.
