Post 16 TCES NOS

NOS College

Our NOS College is a place where students aged 16 to 25 can access a personalised learning journey to further their education. Our highly trained and skilled staff are on hand to support them at every step of the way, ensuring that each young person leaves us feeling empowered to achieve a successful and fulfilling future.

Our College is our largest cohort of students, because this is where the biggest gaps in education have opened up. Often, these young people have been out of education for a long time and might have experienced multiple placements and moves. We understand the need to bridge this gap, taking the time to help our students reach a position where they feel able to take relevant and appropriate qualifications.

It is also important to us that our students leave as confident and independent individuals, ready for their next steps.

Our 2023 DfE OEAS report stated that ‘On leaving the provider, most students are enrolled at a registered school or college. Some students, who have achieved leadership qualifications with the National Online School, stay on and progress from alumni mentor volunteers to alumni learning mentor employees. No students leaving the provider become NEET (not in education, employment or training).‘

Pastoral Support

We are extremely proud of extensive pastoral support available for our college students. We have a dedicated College Lead who oversees on our pastoral support. All College students are assigned a form tutor who meets students in a small group twice a week and leads pastoral activities. The form tutor also holds 1:1 bi-weekly touch points with students to discuss their academic and personal progress. College students have bespoke, age appropriate assemblies once a week that cover a broad range of topics from online safety, exploration of career industries, and preparation for adulthood. Students also are provided with a whole school assembly programme twice a week that create a sense of community across our school and celebrate student successes.
