ENRICHMENT
At the National Online School, we pride ourselves on providing a wealth of opportunities beyond the classroom. We support and encourage our students to take part in the variety of enrichment activities we have one offer and support students to make life long friends.

SCHOOL COUNCIL
Students have the opportunity to play a role on our student council. This provides the chance create a manifesto and take part in hustings.
The student body votes for the member of council they think will have the most impact. Various positions on the council include;
- Leader of the council
- Class/year reps
- Anti-bullying Lead
- Charity Lead
- Community Lead
The School Council meet weekly to discuss an agenda of items, aimed at improving the student experience here at NOS.
They ensure all students’ voices are heard whilst promoting students to be responsible and lead within our community.
Mentoring opportunities
Students have the opportunity to become a peer mentor with us. Those who are interested will be provided with specific and specialised training and this includes a Level 2 Peer Mentoring qualification.
Peer mentors are then assigned a student to work with. They will support them, alongside a staff member, as well as taking on the delivery of workshops to the wider community. Following a Peer Mentor Training Plan, students can further develop their experience and gain qualifications.
Alumni students are also welcomed back to become Alumni Mentors with us, a rewarding opportunity which many students choosing to take.

Clubs AND Competitions
We know that each individual member of our community has unique talents and abilities. Our clubs programme has been designed with this in mind, aiming to be an extension of student’s studies whilst stretching their knowledge. Clubs can also inspire them to fulfil their potential, honing their talents whilst developing their relationships with their peers.
We have developed and designed with our students over 35 clubs which are rotated, from revision clubs, cooking club, art and a beauty club. Additionally, we encourage all of our students to enter themed competitions. We hold one each month, from World Book Day to Science Week.

our Workshops
Workshops are an invaluable experience for students as they enhance learning as well as the practical application of theoretical concepts.
They also provide opportunities for students to explore new skills, enhance their critical thinking and build confidence, all whilst tackling real-world problems.
To elevate this experience we frequently bring in industry professionals, giving students a broad insight into a variety of career paths along with a chance to network.
We are proud to offer a wide variety of workshops including visits from charities such as;
- 52 Lives School of Kindness
- Daniel Spargo Mabbs Foundation drugs and alcohol awareness workshop
- NHS First Aid workshop
- MicrobitsÂ
- Science ExtraganzaÂ
- Creative Writing WorkshopsÂ

National Online School Parent

The more shocking details about her experience in a mainstream school appeared fairly recently, as [she] started opening herself on her past. This is thanks in particular to the RISE (Reflection, Interpersonal Skils, Self-Regulation and Emotional Literacy) therapeutic programme run by her current school [NOS].
