Team members from the National Online School (NOS) put their best foot forward in support of Autism Awareness Month to raise funds for the Autism Initiatives Group.
Taking on the Walk for Autism Challenge, NOS staff from across the country have already completed their part of the challenge, achieving 10,000 steps a day over eight days between the 26th of March and the 2nd of April.
Other staff members set their sights on an even bigger challenge alongside their 10,000 steps a day, they completed the Thames 16 Bridges Challenge, walking 25km in one day!
Director of Education, Gerard Strong, said: “I am so proud of the team for taking part in the Walk for Autism Challenge. Each of them has shown incredible commitment to doing this on top of their demanding day jobs to raise money for a cause close to all our hearts. It’s a great way to raise awareness about autism and support individuals and their families. Every step they take contributes to promoting greater understanding, acceptance, and inclusion.
At the National Online School, supporting our SEND students is central to what we do. Taking part in Walk for Autism reflects our commitment beyond the online classroom. We are incredibly proud of everyone involved and look forward to seeing the continued impact of their efforts in the months ahead.”
Our team have already raised an impressive £1,770, with donations continuing to come through!
The money raised will go to the Autism Initiatives Group, a charity who work alongside autistic people, their families and carers providing specialist services tailored to each individual.
Donations are still open, and anyone wishing to support can do so via the link below:
