National Online School Awarded National Quality in Careers Standard

We are proud to share that National Online School has officially been awarded the National Quality in Careers Standard, a nationally recognised accreditation that recognises the strength and impact of our careers education and preparation for adulthood provision.

This achievement reflects our commitment to preparing students for life beyond school and supporting them to move confidently into their next steps, whether that is further education, training, employment or supported pathways.

“I am incredibly proud of the team and our students. This recognition reflects the passion, commitment and care that goes into our work every day. I had complete confidence in our LIFE programme, it is bespoke, personalised and designed to truly transform lives. Seeing this recognised as a model of excellence is something I am extremely proud of, and I feel privileged to lead this work.” – Niota Cover, Careers Lead & CDI Professional Member.

At the heart of our careers provision is the LIFE framework – Leadership, Independence, Future Options and Employment/Empowerment. Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) is fully embedded within this framework, ensuring learners are supported not only academically, but to understand their options, build confidence and develop the skills needed for adulthood.

The Future Options and Employment/Empowerment (FE) strand is led by a dedicated cross-company Head of Post-16 and Careers, working closely with the National Online School LIFE Team. This collaborative approach ensures high standards and consistency, while allowing provision to remain bespoke, flexible and tailored to each learner within a national online model.

The Quality Mark recognises that our CEIAG provision goes beyond statutory expectations. It is personalised, inclusive and embedded across both curriculum and pastoral support, with clear progression routes into further education, training and employment. During the assessment, our provision was described as exemplary, with particular praise for the strength of the LIFE framework and the quality of our personalised careers guidance.

We are incredibly proud of this recognition and of the impact this work continues to have on our learners. It is a testament to the expertise, collaboration and commitment of our staff, and to the high standards we uphold in supporting students towards positive, confident futures.
