Growing Confidence Through Peer Mentoring

We are excited to announce that some of our National Online School (NOS) students have successfully completed the nationally accredited Peer Mentoring Level 2 Qualification this year.

The students were presented with their accreditation certificates at an award ceremony to celebrate their amazing achievements.

Delivered in partnership with external provider Richard Curtis from The Mentoring School, their specialist trainers guided our aspiring student mentors around the fundamental principles of mentoring and good practice. They then applied their skills and learning by providing support and guidance to other students who had been facing difficulties.

Throughout the qualification, students have been developing important life skills including communication, teamwork, resilience, emotional literacy, and problem-solving, all while supporting and mentoring their peers within their school communities.

As part of our NOS LIFE (Leadership, Independence, Future Options & Employability and Empowerment) curriculum and Preparation for Adulthood pathways, the programme helps students explore future opportunities, build independence, and develop the confidence to take on new challenges.

We have also seen students discover new interests and career ambitions through the programme, including aspirations in mentoring, social work, and helping professions.

This programme demonstrates how we support young people not only academically, but in becoming confident, independent young adults who are equipped for adulthood, employment, relationships, and participation within their communities.

We are incredibly proud of all the students who took part and the determination, growth, and leadership they have shown throughout the programme.
