MEET Becky

Before Joining National Online School
  • Becky was timetabled for 1 hour per week online tuition that she did not attend.
  • Her access to a consistent education had been disrupted over many years and she had significant gaps in her learning as a result.
  • She had struggled to engage with education due to poor mental health and had spent time in hospital.
  • Becky is currently under the care of the Local Authority.
  • Becky’s needs are complex and many of her presenting needs are consistent with developmental trauma and disordered attachment.
During time at National Online School
  • Becky is participating in ongoing weekly CAMHS sessions.
  • She is currently undergoing her transition to adult mental health services.
  • She receives mentoring for additional pastoral support from our team.
  • A personalised timetable was created to help Becky build a relationship with a trusted pastoral mentor.
Progression
  • Becky’s attendance is gradually increasing to 23.9% (from 19/11/2025 - 20/03/2026).
  • There has been a significant reduction in her high-risk behaviours (no recent absconding or self-harm).
  • She is motivated by her long-term aspiration to become a mental health nurse and has shown willingness to re-engage following a period of poor mental health.
  • Relationships are important to her and she engages well when she has had time to develop a relationship and feels supported.
  • Becky also has a number of strengths as protective factors, including crafts, Lego, connection with sister and nephew, one strong friendship, and a love of animals.
